Clean Data is key!

A Salesforce environment can only be as strong as the data within it. I've worked with an organization that had 16,000+ Contacts. Of these contacts, more than 10,000 were duplicates.

In the 6,000 actual contacts, there were thousands that simply had two of their more than fifty fields actually completed - Name and Phone.

Their main objective was to create campaigns, however, since there was no data in the Salesforce org on these contacts, they were unable to properly send out an email campaign because no filters could be applied to their contacts.

For example, if they wanted to filter their contacts by industry, turnover, and location, they couldn't because there was no data on their contacts for these fields.

Besides a form of storage, Salesforce was of no actual use. Especially when the Leads, Opportunities, and other objects are not being utilized.
