Pardot - Importing & Manually Adding Prospects

Whenever we have a new client, there are two main priorities.

One, to get them setup for the influx of new leads and prospects with fresh data via Pardot.

Two, to utilize and optimize engagement of their current email list.

Typically, a company that is investing in Pardot has already established a pipeline and has a list of prospective clients who have already "signed-up" or "subscribed" to their newsletters, information request forms, etc.

The question then becomes, if you're new to Pardot, how do you add your existing prospects?

Especially so you can utilize the rockin' features of the Engagement Studio and the integration with Salesforce.

Everyone is always excited about their shiny new toy (or software, in this instance). Utilize it not only for new marketing activity, but milk the old prospects in this system as well!

See if you can re-engage a quiet prospect or bring alive the contact list to a whole new world.

Depending on your sales/prospecting process, there will be two ways to add contact information to Pardot: manually and via import.

Manually import contacts if prospects are being added one at a time. Import if there are multiple contacts being added at once, information is being updated, or overridden.

Manually add prospects using the navigation menu Prospects >> Prospect Lists >> Add Prospects button on the right side.

Import Prospects using the navigation menu Admin >> Import >> Prospects.
