Three awesome features from the Winter ‘19 release you need to know about

When logging into Salesforce, have you yet noticed the change from the snorkeling bear in the orange vest to the skiing man in a furry onesie?

When those iconic logos change seasons three times a year, you can be sure that Salesforce has added new features to its platform to make for an easy and more convenient user experience.

These release features are across the entire Salesforce platform, and also specific to the different cloud applications Salesforce offers.

Highlighted below are three of the features from the Winter ‘19 release that we are most excited about.

PARDOT LIGHTNING EXPERIENCE

If you’re not careful, tabs can somehow start to add up very quickly on your browser window, and before you know it you are lost in a sea of open tabs.

Pardot in Lightning Experience eliminates the need to use Pardot from a separate tab, as you can now access the powerful marketing tool straight from your Salesforce organization!

The Pardot app has been tailored to look and feel like you are working within Lightning Experience (because you are!), so the ‘new’ Pardot interface will feel very familiar to users.

New features with this integration allow users to opt synced prospects back into Pardot emails, and copy and paste up to ten steps in an engagement program from a previous program - eliminating the need to construct the first steps over and over again!

Be on the lookout for spiffed up dashboards and reports with Pardot as well!

LIST VIEW SEARCH AND SHARING

Users can now search for a certain record in….record time!

Using the new list view search feature, you can search data within your list to find that record you’d otherwise have to scroll and scroll to find.

This feature makes it very convenient to access records that you know exist within the list view, but are still buried at the bottom of the list!

In addition to searching within list views, the Winter ‘19 release also allows users to easily share those perfectly curated lists with other users.

If users have permissions that allow this feature, sharing a list view with your team is as easy as selecting ‘Sharing Settings’ from the list view controls menu and selecting the roles or groups that will receive this list share.

DISPLAY DENSITY

With two new display density settings - compact and comfy - users are now able to control the display density of the screen and choose how much information to see on their screen at once.

Existing organizations have the comfy display setting by default, which is very similar to the previous default display.

The compact display setting fits 30% more fields onto the page and while there is less space between page elements, this display lets users to view record information without having to scroll!

Users can change display density by clicking on their picture icon on the top right of the screen and choosing from ‘compact’ or ‘comfy’ under Display Density on the dropdown menu.

But wait, there’s more! The list of new Winter ‘19 features goes on and on...for 533 pages!

You can view all of the new features at length in the Winter ‘19 Release Notes, or talk to your Salesforce administrator for more concise information about the features that will best benefit your organization.
